Start with one pair of Adult Footed Pajamas

  • Make a Silly Oriental Hat from Black Felt -and Orange or Yellow Posterboard.
  • The hat in the photo was made by just cutting a large circle of Posterboard, cutting a notch in it, and stapling it with a Felt Tassel coming out of the top.
  • Make a Sushi Roll from Green Felt - and Cardboard with Packing Peanuts.(Felt is available in a 6 foot wide version for about $5 a yard from fabric stores)
  • Cut a cardboard circle for top and bottom - cut out a hole for your head - and a larger one for your legs.
  • Staple white fabric to the top one - glue packing peanuts to the top. Loosely staple a very large piece of
  • Green Felt to both pieces of cardboard.

  • Make some Giant Chopsticks, Cucumber and Avocado from Cardboard and Posterboard.
  • Then tape & staple them coming out of the neck hole.
  • Show up at the party with someone dressed as Wasabi and/or Soy Sauce.

Safety Tip:

  • Remember the safety tips from our DIY Page: ALWAYS be able to leap out of any costume immediately - in this case by clipping the pins that hold the Nori around your body so close to the edge that you could rip them out easily... (Always ask yourself: what if a bee gets in my costume?!?)
